Hello! I had seen these crocheted hearts pictured quite a few times in the past week, and decided to make some myself, by following the excellent directions given at ‘Little Birdie Secrets’, found here Crochet Hearts
But once I had one heart finished, I was unsure what to do with it. Then it dawned on me that I could make a lariat-style necklace, by continuing with a simple chain stitch, after making the final slip stitch for the hearts. So I added a 100 stitch chain to each one, and then attached them together, sewing in the ends. This length allowed me to tie the necklace three different ways, as seen in the photos.
My sister really likes hearts, and it was her birthday so I made her one too! She loved it. What she particularly appreciated was how soft and comfortable it was on her neck.
Even if you’re a beginner, these are quite easy to make, so I hope you give it a try! I now have the urge to make some with crocheted flowers on the ends but I’ll wait until springtime for those.
