My indoor potted African violets are blooming! The purple one has been with me longer than Nick and Eddie, having been bought six months before Nick and I met. At the time, I had no idea what lay in store for me right around the bend. I was living in a little apartment, the first home I’d ever had on my own, and the plant decorated the bedside table, under the eves in my second floor loft. There were skylights over the bed so Violet was bathed in light.
Throughout the years she has been depended upon to bring happiness with her cheerful little blossoms, and she never disappoints, no matter how little attention I have sometimes paid her. For this I am thankful.
